Dog Grooming in Mesquite

Mesquite is the largest city we regularly serve — about 150,000 residents and a short 18-minute drive south to our Seagoville studio. Mesquite families drive in from Town East, Hagan Hill, Creek Crossing, and the broader North Mesquite area because the quiet in-home setting is the right fit for anxious, matted, or high-maintenance coats that get rushed in bigger salons. Doodles, Pomeranians, and small family breeds make up the bulk of our Mesquite client base, and many of them have become regulars after a rescue groom or a first appointment for a fearful dog. Every appointment is one-on-one, by appointment only, with no barking strangers in the background. If you're in Mesquite and you've struggled to find a calm groomer, the 18-minute drive is almost always worth it.

About grooming in Mesquite

Mesquite is a large suburb directly east of Dallas with a strong mix of family households and long-time residents. The Town East mall corridor and the master-planned neighborhoods around it generate most of the doodle and small-breed client volume we see. Traffic on US-175 is light outside rush hour.

Seasonal grooming notes for Mesquite

DFW climate changes how often your dog needs to be groomed. Keep these in mind as you plan the year.

  • Summer (June–September): 95–105°F with high humidity — book extra de-sheds for double-coated breeds and keep haircuts shorter than you would in cooler climates
  • Spring (March–May): peak shedding plus cedar and pollen allergies — plan a de-shed at the start of the season and flag any new itching
  • Fall (September–November): second shed cycle — double-coated breeds need another professional de-shed
  • Winter (December–February): mild overall but occasional freezes — keep coat length long enough for outdoor breaks on cold mornings

Getting to Kay's from Mesquite

From Mesquite, head south on US-175 (C.F. Hawn Freeway) about 15 miles to Seagoville. Exit Hall Rd or Town East Blvd depending on where you start — total drive is usually 18–20 minutes depending on traffic. Our studio at 2899 Castlebend Dr is a short residential turn off the main road.

The studio is by appointment only— please book online or call ahead so we can have your dog's slot reserved and the space calm.

Parking is easy and drop-off is quick. If your dog is reactive or anxious, let us know when you book and we'll plan a quiet hand-off with no other clients overlapping.
