Kay's Groom Room specializes in 12 popular breeds — from high-maintenance doodles and curly-coated poodles to double-coated Pomeranians and silky Yorkies. Every breed has different coat, skin, and temperament needs, and the right groom is the one built around your specific dog. Kay's in-home studio in Seagoville, TX serves dog owners across the greater Dallas–Fort Worth area including Mesquite, Balch Springs, Kaufman, Forney, and Lancaster. Every appointment is one-on-one, by appointment only.
Goldendoodle
Wavy-to-curly, high-maintenance coat that mats quickly without regular brushing. Ranges from loose wave (F1) to dense curl (F1B, F2).
Poodle
Single-layer curly coat that grows continuously. No shedding, but needs regular clipping and skilled scissor work to avoid pelting.
Bichon Frise
Soft curly double-coat with a dense undercoat. Needs regular brushing to stay fluffy and avoid tight mats at the skin.
Pomeranian
Thick double coat with a short dense undercoat and long straight guard hairs. Heavy shedder twice a year.
Shih Tzu

Yorkshire Terrier
Fine, silky, human-like hair. Grows continuously and does not shed much.
Maltipoo
Soft wavy coat — Maltese × Poodle mix. Low shedding, mats easily, usually white or cream.
Cockapoo
Wavy to curly coat — Cocker Spaniel × Poodle. Low-shedding but mats quickly, especially in the ears and legs.
Schnauzer
Wiry double-coat. Traditionally hand-stripped for show; clipped for pets (coat softens slightly).
Bernedoodle
Wavy to curly tri-color coat — Bernese Mountain Dog × Poodle. Large, thick, mats quickly without brushing.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Silky, moderate-length coat with feathering on ears, chest, legs, and tail. Low-maintenance grooming.
Havanese
Long, silky, wavy double-coat. Low-shedding, high-maintenance if kept long.
